Abgenix, Inc.
Hyde provided CIP automation system design review, testing, and commissioning services for six CIP skids using Delta V® software for a new manufacturing facility in Fremont, Calif. We also integrated a ControlLogix CIP system with a process using Delta V®.
Alkermes, Inc.
Hyde created a fully integrated process automation system for a new timed-release parenteral dosage biopharmaceutical production facility. The scope of the project included automation system design, implementation, and validation. The automation system was comprised of seven operator interface terminals (Allen-Bradley PanelViews), five Data Acquisition/Storage Terminals (Rockwell RSView32 terminals running Windows), five SLC-5/05 controllers, and a PLC-5/40E controller. The automation system operated with nearly 300 digital and 250 analog inputs and outputs. Communication protocols included RIO (remote I/O), DH-485, and Ethernet.
Amgen, Inc.
Hyde has provided automation system integration and software services to Amgen on several projects, including the modification of existing Modicon PLC and proprietary operator interface CIP automation system software, developed by others, to provide additional cleaning cycles specified by Amgen. We also worked with Amgen in the procurement of a CIP system for cleaning portable vessels and other processing equipment for an existing pilot plant. Part of the project scope was to provide the automation system software and documentation, as well as SOPs and validation documents for the CIP system. We have also provided software and CIP integration services, including the development of CIP system IQ and OQ documentation, for six CIP systems at three other Amgen facilities.
Human Genome Sciences, Inc. Bacterial Pilot Plant
When HGS was constructing a bacterial production facility in Rockville Md., they turned to Hyde for the process automation system. The work involved development of the automation system architecture, software specifications and test plans, software for Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLC-5), operator interface terminals (OIT), and a SCADA system running RS View software. We also provided validation documentation and assistance during automation system OQ execution.
Invitrogen Corporation
For Invitrogen's LTI production facility in Grand Island, N.Y., Hyde provided integrated processes and CIP/SIP automation systems, incorporating Allen-Bradley SLC controllers with WonderWare HMI/SCADA terminals. The system also controls production activities with existing plant equipment, including a high-speed filling machine. Hyde added significant value to several parts of this project including design, controls, and validation of the system.
